Random Musings: First Day At Animation Class -- Start From The Basics

Today marked my first day at my animation class and I already learned a lot of things. Like how to:

+ draw basic shapes by taking note of the vanishing point, perspective, center and balance. I also learned about how the vanishing point works.

+ trace without using any ruler to check one's line quality.

+ draw the hands and fingers by using the basic shapes and properly refine the drawing to show the forms.

Though I have been drawing since I was a kid, this was really the first time that I understood how and why the basic shapes were useful. By using basic shapes, drawing an object or figure becomes easy. It was also a useful to technique to draw faster.
